SRS are working with a fantastic independently owned freight forwarder in the Manchester area looking for an operationally focused candidate who would like to move into a more commercially focused role.

The right person will have air and sea freight experience, as well as be comfortable handles quotations across multiple modes.

Salary: £30-35K

Role and responsibilities:

• Analyse customer inquiries and requests for proposals to determine pricing requirements and feasibility.
• Evaluate costs, including transportation, warehousing, customs duties, and other relevant expenses, to develop competitive pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to understand customer needs and develop customized pricing solutions.
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely pricing quotations and proposals to potential and existing clients.
• Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to ensure pricing remains competitive and aligned with industry standards.
• Monitor pricing performance, analysing profitability and market share, and make recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
• Maintain pricing databases and systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
• Collaborate with the finance team to review and validate pricing calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Support pricing negotiations with customers, working closely with the sales team to secure profitable contracts.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market dynamics that may impact pricing strategies.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
